CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICE
Ellie Pelzer’s Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the Griswold United Methodist Church.
The family has requested memorials be given directly to the American Legion Auxiliary Post 508, PO Box 561, Griswold, IA 51535.
Randy, Debra, Beth, Lisa, and their families also wish to express their deepest gratitude for the decades of prayers, love, and friendship you have so generously shared.
Cards shared with the family during the month of September may be sent to 2559 140th St., Red Oak, IA 51566.
From the moment our father was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer—when our family’s youngest was only two-years-old—family, friends, and neighbors rallied around us. You planted and harvested crops, walked beans, and handled countless chores many times. Whenever we needed help, you provided nourishment for our bodies and hope for our souls.
Whether you, your parents, or your grandparents stood by us then in person or continued to support our mother long after work or health issues took us away, your care has never wavered. We can never repay your love, kindness, and generosity. Please accept our heartfelt appreciation.
ellie's last trip to the black hills
This photo was captured during one of Ellie’s last trips to the Black Hills where she was raised. Under the double rainbow, it felt like the perfect encore to our biannual reunion.
Genesis 9:16: “Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”
